Acquire established businesses. Build the next chapter

A succession-focused buyer with an operating plan.

We acquire established businesses from founders, families and owner-managers who are considering succession, retirement or a change in their role.

The proposition is deliberately broader than completing a transaction. We want to understand why the business has succeeded, what the owner wants to preserve and where a new ownership structure can help the company continue to develop.

27% Of family businesses in KPMG's 2026 Private Enterprise Barometer cited succession and ownership transition planning as a key long-term consideration KPMG UK, Jul 2026

67% Of family businesses surveyed by Family Business UK in Q2 2026 believed the next generation was adequately prepared to take on leadership responsibilities, below the 72% who believed the next generation had the necessary skills and experience. The gap illustrates why ownership and leadership transition need to be planned rather than assumed Family Business UK, 3 Jun 2026

01

The problem

For a founder, the highest bidder is not automatically the right buyer. Price matters, but so do certainty, confidentiality, management continuity, treatment of employees, future investment and the owner's desired role after completion.

02

Our view

A buyer should understand not only how it will finance the transaction but also who will make decisions on Day One, where founder dependence exists and what genuinely needs to change.

Ownership transition and operating transition should be designed together.

03

What we do

We assess the quality and resilience of the existing business first. We then consider ownership structure, management, financing, systems, operating constraints, potential technology improvements and future growth.

04

What you get

Owners receive clarity about the buyer's intentions before the transaction is complete. Management receives a visible operating plan. Lenders receive a financing case anchored in the existing business rather than speculative transformation.

05

Why North Axiom

We combine direct ownership experience with transaction and operating-change disciplines. That matters because a seller is not only choosing a price. They are choosing what happens to management, customers, people, systems and the company after completion.

06

How an acquisition runs, step by step

A typical journey is: confidential conversation ->, mutual fit ->, indicative view ->, diligence ->, financing and documentation ->, Day One ->, first 100 days ->, ownership-period value creation.

Sensitive financial, customer, employee or trade-secret information should move into a secure second-stage process only after fit is established.
